Houses in bushfire areas
Each group will receive a picture of a house which is located in the bush. You will have three minutes to make a tableaux (freeze frame) showing what you would do to prepare this house for a bushfire. Remember you only need to show one thing you would do.

Houses in bushfire areas
21
Time to listen…. Find your own space in the room.
Lay flat on your back with your eyes closed. You will have the chance to listen to a story about a bushfire. After listening to this story you will have the chance to answer a number of questions in the role of your character. The questions will be based on how you would RESPOND to the event of a bushfire. Keep your eyes closed until you are instructed to open them.
22
Time to reflect… In your research journal answer the following questions… How did your character feel when they were forced to evacuate? Why do you think it is important for residents to evacuate their house if there is a bushfire in the surrounding area? Do you think it is important for people to have a plan of how to prepare and respond to a bushfire? Justify your response.
