Introductions and Goals
What is your current institution and position? What are your goals for today’s workshop? Build a pool of professional writers for NASPA’s and other professional publications. Educate participants on the processes of topic generation, manuscript production, submission, reviewing, and publishing. Assist participants in developing a writing action. Build a cohort of writers.

Focused Small Groups I need to find a topic to write about I already have a topic I want to write about How familiar with the literature around your topic are you? What knowledge and expertise do you bring to this topic? How does your specific approach to your topic add to what we already know about it? Which NASPA journal is a good fit for your work? What in higher education are you passionate about? What gaps in knowledge do you see in our field? What specific knowledge and expertise do you bring to the writing process? How does your work in student affairs connect to a specific NASPA journal?
