Cause- The compass and the astrolabe were invented.
Effect- It was easier to navigate, therefore explore.

Cause- Europeans established plantation colonies.
Effect- Europeans made a lot of money selling cash crops such as sugar cane, rice, tobacco, and indigo.

Cause- Italians and Muslims charged Western Europeans high prices for Asian goods.
Effects- Western Europeans wanted to find new trade routes to Asia.

Cause- Europeans established large plantation colonies in the Americas.
Effect- Many Africans were enslaved and shipped to the Americas via the Middle Passage.

Effect- Settler colonies were established.
