Advantages “Search year”
Aim: to find a job as a highly skilled migrant in the Netherlands When: up to three years after graduation, promotion or completion of the scientific research How often: multiple times, after completion of each other study, promotion or research Examples regarding second search year permit: -After earning Ba or Ma degree again graduation in other Ba or Ma study: 2nd search year possible -Same situation, but again graduation in the same study: 2nd search year not possible Rotterdam, 30 October 2017

No restrictions: every (temporary) job; internships (paid or unpaid) No work permit (TWV) needed No obligation to meet a standard amount (means of support) Residence permit valid during 1 year only (no extension possible) How is your Dutch, your CV and social network? How to apply for the “Search year” permit?
- For all conditions and application forms see: - Application by post or IND-desk* (in the Netherlands) or online** - Copy Dutch diploma or statement ‘declaration completion study’ from the educational institute - The necessary fee (€ 633) has to be paid before the application is handled Note: It is important to apply in time in order to avoid a possible residence gap: when your residence permit is still valid *IND Desks Amsterdam – The Hague – Rotterdam: by appointment **DigiD with sms-code required; payment of the fees with IDEAL Rotterdam, 30 October 2017

You need a facilitator: - registered at the Chamber of Commerce - reliable - experienced in guiding entrepreneurs You need to register at the Chamber of Commerce and a step-by-step plan: - your innovative product or service - your plans for the coming year - your own role in your company Rotterdam, 30 October 2017

Start-up : how does it work? (2)
You need an agreement between yourself and the facilitator : - signed by both parties - how will the facilitator be guiding you? - the facilitor is not allowed to have a majority stake in your company Rotterdam, 30 October 2017

Start-up : conditions residence permit
- you have to meet the standard amount (means of support) - the agreement - the step-by-step plan - necessary fees (€ 317) have to paid in advance Your plans will be assessed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). RVO also holds a list of approved facilitators. The IND bases its judgement on the recommendation of NEA/RVO The residence permit is granted for 1 year only. After that you can apply for the residence permit (to work on a self-employed basis) Rotterdam, 30 October 2017
