2. Attracting Members to Surfers Sunrise
As a relatively new member, apologies if you have discussed this before!
To increase membership we need to promote Surfers Sunrise and Rotary to our family, friends and members of the community
Majority of Generation Y (ages 25-38) are not even slightly aware of what Rotary is
Small details have a huge impact on whether or not we will be able to recruit young professionals as new members e.g image of the club, cost of breakfast, location of our meeting etc
As a club, we need to celebrate the many successes of the club but also be prepared to adapt to attract new members

Best way to stay accessible and engage with a wider audience
Most people today look online for information and receive updates via Social Media
Keep our family, friends and other clubs up to date with the great work our club does in the community
Stay modern and keep up to date with global trends
Local journalists, politicians, other Rotarians and businesses are already following Surfers Sunrise on Instagram – over time they will help promote us

4. What is Instagram? Instagram is a photo and video sharing
social media site.
It was designed for mobile use with the intention that users would take photos on their mobile devices then upload the images “instantly” through the Instagram app.
The intention is to connect users with friends, family, colleagues, and other users with similar interests.
Tells OUR story (you all can help me with this)
Over 1 BILLION monthly active users

5. How to Get and Set Up Instagram
1. Get the App
Instagram is a mobile device app. You can’t sign up on your computer (though you can access your account after it’s active)
Head to the App Store, Google Play, or Marketplace and download the Instagram app - it’s free

6. 2. Register Your Account
Once you open the app after downloading, you’ll be prompted to Register or Sign In.
Select ‘Register’ and fill in your username and enter a password.
For your profile photo, click on the “Photo” box to upload a photo. If you don’t upload a photo you will look like Angus………

already using Instagram but here are some for

8. 4. Edit Your Profile
Now that you’re registered, you need to fill in your profile info and set up your profile settings. Click on the right-most icon along the bottom of your screen. Your profile will show you how many posts you have shared, the number of followers you have, and the number of people you are following. Just beneath these stats is an arrow to Edit Your Profile. Click this field to complete your profile information.
