How many subjects? The majority of students take 3 A levels A small number will take 4 A levels (dependent on GCSE grades and discussion at interview) Potential for a mix of A level and vocational BTEC The timetable will include other qualifications Sixth Form Information Evening

Subjects which they enjoy and which interest them Play to their strengths – subjects which they are good at Subjects that will help them with their next move The desire to study something new Sixth Form Information Evening

Entry Criteria A LEVEL Every prospective student is considered on their merits. Typically - 5 GCSE passes at Grade in at least four subject areas Plus Maths and English Language Grade 5 Many individual subjects have further specific entry requirements – please refer to the Course Guide VOCATIONAL 5 GCSE passes at Grade 4 –9 Plus Maths and English Language Grade 4 Sixth Form Information Evening

The Application Process
For all students based at Walton High School the application process is via our Application Form A Course Guide and Application Form is available to you tonight Please return these completed forms to your Tutor by the end of January If you are not currently a Walton Student your application will also be paper based. Application packs are available tonight in Reception Sixth Form Information Evening

What happens next? Complete application form before Walton deadline: 31st January Each applicant will be interviewed: by a Senior Member of Staff from 1st February onwards Interviews will focus on: Suitability of choices Current performance and likely exam results Future aspirations Discussion of any areas of uncertainty If needed, make alterations to options (this may happen during interview) Sixth Form Information Evening

Year 11 Information Evening – Tuesday 6th November 2018 Subject Presentations
We shall be running 4 x 15 minute sessions for these subjects (unless otherwise indicated). The school bell will ring to indicate the start and finish of each session. We will then give you a 5 minute break before the next presentation. If you have not already done so please collect the schedule for these sessions from our Reception Desk Session – 7.45 Session – 8.05 Session – 8.25 Session – 8.45 In addition you will find the following personnel/organisations based in and around Reception who can offer help and advice; Mrs Julie Wellings/Sixth Form Administrator Reception
