Christopher’s Beginning
Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy, at the time of the Renaissance Era. His real name was Cristofo Colombo. He was the son of Domencio Colombo, whose family has manufactured wool for three generations. He was curious and intrigued about The concept of exploring was interesting to him. One day, when he was a grown man, he decided to sail to find a shorter way to Asia, without the middle man. He went to all the kingdoms in western Europe, asking for money to fund his expedition, and finally found King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain to fund his expedition. Therefore, he represented Spain on his expedition.

Where Chris Went Columbus wanted to find a faster way to go to Asia, but instead landed in the Caribbean islands. He thought he had reached Asia, and called the place the Indies. He thought he found Asia even until his death. At least he found two entire continents. He made four trips to the Americas, trading with them and populating the Americas with his people. He also wanted to study the place. He went From Spain to the Caribbean.

Why he Went to America He did not purposefully go to North/South America; He just discovered it by accident and did not even know it. He just happened to come across a whole new continent by accident. It was a good thing he did, though. He just wanted to get a faster route to Asia.

What Pirates Would Want
If pirates had taken over the ship, what they would want would probably be their jewelry, money, clothes, and weapons. They would want the weapons to arm themselves, the clothes so that they would stay warm, and the jewelry and money for them to buy stuff and meet their basic needs.

Chris’s Main Accomplishment
Columbus’s main accomplishment was discovering two whole continents: The Americas. If it wasn’t for him, we would not be here today. He was the only one who did something so big and epic. We should honor him for this awesome accomplishment. Those four journeys made everything happen.
7
Why he Was Unsuccessful
Columbus was unsuccessful because when he thought that he reached Asia, he had actually reached the Americas. Even when he died, he thought he reached Asia. He probably gave untrue information to King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella without even knowing it. He also thought that the continents were closer than they really were, and thought that the world was 1/3 of its actual size.

Why Columbus Stood Out Columbus stood out from the crowd of explorers because he had found two whole new continents; North and South America. He was the only explorer that made such a huge discovery. He landed in the Caribbean Islands, in the Gulf Coast. Although it was a mistake, he still got renown for it.
