Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
Atoms Have paper ready to take notes you may find while watching the video on elements and atoms . Click on the web site ***As you watch the video, listen for five important facts about atoms and elements*** 3. Play the video and record the five important facts. 4. Once your list is complete, turn in your answers. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Teacher Notes: This website has the sheet read for the students to complete while listening to the song. Teacher’s name/ Krystal Henagan School: Fairview Elementary Louisiana State Standard: Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) Grade Level/Subject:5th Science Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Observation Prerequisites for students: Atoms and Elements

a Atoms Click on the web site: As you watch the Brainpop video on Atoms, take notes on your paper about the protons, neutrons, and electrons. After you watch the video and take notes, click on the web site: Take the Classic Quiz When you complete the 10 question quiz, put your first name and number only. Print your results. Look at the feedback given from missed questions on the quiz and re watch the video if necessary. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Krystal Henagan School: Fairview Elementary Louisiana State Standard: Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) Grade Level/Subject: 5th/Science Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Teacher Observation. Prerequisites for students: Atoms and Elements

M Atoms Review the key concepts on Atoms with your partner.
Visit the web site: Label your cube with your first name and number only. Click on the Create- Your- Own Cube Fill out each part of the cube and create questions on atoms and fill in the correct answer in the response section. Print cube and create cube. Pass cube to your partner and allow them to answer each questions. Partner will give verbal feedback. Turn in you final product. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) MODIFICATION Technology allows for a significant task redesign. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Krystal Henagan School: Fairview Elementary Louisiana State Standard: Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) Grade Level/Subject:5th Science Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Teacher Observation Prerequisites for students: Atoms and Elements

R Atoms Review the key concepts of an atom with a partner.
Visit the web site: Label your cube with your first name and number only. Click on the Create- Your- Own Cube Fill out each part of the cube and create questions on atoms and fill in the correct answer in the response section. Save the cube in the folder on the desktop labeled “cubes”. Turn in your cube on our class blackboard site on the Discussion Board. Ask a peer to read and critique work. *each student must read and critique at least 2 other students’ cubes* After peer feedback, conference with the teacher. Print your cube and turn in. Learning Objective(s): Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) REDEFINITION Technology allows for new tasks, previously inconceivable. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ Krystal Henagan School: Fairview Elementary Louisiana State Standard: Describe the structure of atoms and the electrical charge of protons, neutrons, and electrons (PS-M-A2) Grade Level/Subject:5th Science Special Directions/Considerations: Activity Evaluation: Final Cube Prerequisites for students: Atoms and Elements
