The Skeletal and Digestive System
Christian Leigh Satya Moolani

The Skeletal System The skeletal system consists of all the bones of the skeleton, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissues. It provides form, support, stability, and movement to the body. The primary function is to support the body, allow motion, and protect vital organs.

Incredible fact 1 The hands and feet contain over half of the body's bones. Each hand has bones and each foot has 26 which means there are 106 bones all together.

Incredible Fact 2 Bones are not the hardest substance in the body, they are harder than steal but they are not the hardest substance in the body. In fact the teeth enamel are the hardest substance in the body because of the high concentration of mainly calcium salts. Can you figure out what system the teeth are apart of: Digestive or the Skeletal system?

Incredible Fact 3 People do not directly control their bones because the without a brain or nervous system the skeletal system wouldn't work. When you move anything your brain sends impulses through your nervous system and makes your muscles contract causing your bones to move.

Incredible Fact 4 The only joint less bone in your body is the hyoid bone in your throat. The hyoid bone is a u- shaped bone in the neck that helps support the throat.

Incredible Fact 5 Your growth in height is likely to stop for a girl at 16 and a boy and 18.
