Back Safety: Lifting Odd Shapes
Incorrectly lifting heavy objects that have odd shapes requires extra force and can take you off balance. This can result in a back injury! Here are a few steps to consider first: Look around… Are there any mechanical aids available? (dollies, carts, etc.) Size up the load: How heavy is it? Get a firm footing Bend your knees, not your back! Tighten your stomach muscles and hug the load…get close! Lift with your legs keeping the curves in the back Confidential-Client Use Only
