This colt is leading the class with muscling. He has a very heavily muscled hind quarter region, as well as muscle throughout his forearm and the rest of his body. His hip is lower set than the rest of the colts in the class. He also exemplifies good breed and sex character. He is slightly back at the knee in the front, but overall, this colt is at the top of this class.

Both colts have good muscling and overall balance for their age. Colt #4 is a little more developed with stronger muscling. Each colt has a descent and equal shoulder. Colt #4 has a shorter, stronger back. Colt 4’s croup is a little steeper, but he still has a long hip and well-muscled hindquarter. Colt #4 has a stronger shorter back than colt 2. Each colt is higher at the hip, but this may even out with age.

Both colts have adequate muscling for their age. Colt #2’s overall body blends and flows more nicely than colt #1’s making him more pleasing to the eye. Both colts have poor necks…Colt #2 has a very long bottom ration on his neck while colt #1 has a high tie-in and may develop a ewe-neck with age. Colt #2 has a stronger topline and more correct slope to his shoulder. Colt #1’s shoulder is steeper and he has lengthier pasterns. Colt 1’s croup is also steep and short, which makes his balance poorer.
