Continuing Cooperation on IMT Standardization(RES GSC-12/01)
“to exchange information and views on candidate radio interface technologies for IMT-Advanced among PSOs allowing for efficient, effective and timely development of the IMT-Advanced standard” : newly added in GSC-12
Proposed principles for cooperation
Keep the ITU timeline for IMT-Advanced standardization
Should ensure market demands and industry expectation for the latest technology innovations
Pursue the objective of achieving harmonization on regional/global basis

5. Next Steps toward IMT-Adv. Standardization
Preparation for IMT-Advanced standardization
Close cooperation between 3GPP, 3GPP2, IEEE and TTA to prepare candidate proposals for the radio transmission technologies for IMT
Continuously exchange information and views on candidate technologies among PSOs
Keep flexibility to reflect various industry voices
Encourage participations in TTA evaluation activities not only from national level but also overseas

6. Proposed modification on Resolution
Proposed modifications to Resolution GSC-12/01: “Continuing Cooperation on IMT Standardization”
Need to reflect the results of RA-07 and WRC-07
Restructuring of SGs & WPs
Approval of IMT Naming Resolution (Resolution 57)
Need to reflect current status of ITU-R preparation of IMT-Adv.
Should reflect the results of June meeting of ITU-R WP5D
