3
Courses The courses tab is a link to all lessons. We will begin by focusing on the Beginner Course.
4
Games The Games tab contains typing games. After selecting a game, you can specify the keys you would like to practice. Never practice keys for which you have not completed a lesson, as you DO NOT want to practice using incorrect finger placement.
5
certification The Certification tab allows you to print a typing certificate upon completion of lessons. Enhance your resume and prove to your future employers your typing proficiency with an official TypingWeb Typing Certification. All certificates contain a unique verification link for prospective employers to verify the authenticity of your Certificate.
6
Test We will periodically gage your improvement by taking typing tests. These tests are scored by the computer for both accuracy and words typed per minute.
7
statistics The statistics window is a place where you can view a summary of your progress, time spent typing, your problem keys, and results of prior typing tests. You can also view typing certificates earned and how your typing skills compare to other typingweb participants by country, age, or gender. Some information will not be viewable until a minimum number of lessons have been completed.
8
Trophies Trophies are earned upon completion of lessons and are viewable under the Trophies tab.
9
skins Several skins are available to change the color and appearance of your typingweb screen.
10
Log out Make sure to log out at the end of each session to ensure that your scores will be save.

How will I be graded? Work you do on Typingweb is collected and sent to my teacher account, from which I can generate several reports such as those seen on this slide. From these reports I will begin grading you on your accuracy. Lessons with less than 100% accuracy should be retaken. The more you practice, the more accurate and faster you will become. Once we have learned all the keys, I will begin taking grades based upon your speed. At that point, we will begin doing weekly typing tests. Remember, your typing grade counts as 25% of your nine weeks average.
12
What if I am absent? Ample time is given for students to complete lessons. If you are absent and find that you are falling behind, see me for permission for extra time or permission to use the account outside of the school day. It is very important that you are present each day and use your time efficiently.
13
What if I am unhappy with my score?
Your results are reported each time you finish an exercise. You are then given the option to retake the exercise or continue with the lesson. Retake exercises as needed to improve your score. You must have 100% accuracy before moving on. Do not wait until the end of the lesson to retake, as you will have to retake the entire lesson.
14
Can I practice at home? Feel free to use Typingweb at home. However, DO NOT use the account we have created for this class. Typingweb can be used without creating an account by going to and clicking on “Start Typing”. Progress will not be saved if you choose this option. You may also set up your own account by creating a username and password with a valid address.
