WHY CRAFT, NOT JOB? BRAINSTORMING 10 MINUTES
“Craft" denotes entrepreneurship, goals, fantasy, creativity: it can be compared to that of an artist or a craftsman. “Work", on the other hand, is determined by the client who, holding economic power, is in a strong position, compared to the "job-provider“: the worker follows client’s indications. craftsman worker Acts towards a purpose and, around this aim, organizes all the available resources. Uses all the acquired skills, through investments, also onerous, made not for the sake of certainty, but of a possibility. Bridges the gap between the skills that he/she should have - and still does not have to reach the goal - and the ones he/she has. Keeps the job inside the given limits and knowledges. Puts the person - or the different people - at the center of the process and project. Puts bureaucracy, procedures, protocols, and training object itself at the center of the process.
