2. LAW ARS
Duty to report abuse, physical injury, neglect and denial or deprivation of medical or surgical care or nourishment of minors; medical records.
Any person who reasonably believes that a minor is or has been the victim of physical injury, abuse, child abuse, a reportable offense of neglect that appears to be inflicted upon the minor by other then accidental means.

3. A report is made to you
*Someone reports to you that a minor has been injured or abused by someone else.
*The person reporting to you maybe the student or a friend of the student or a community member.
*YOU are to use the form listed below to either call the DCS(Dept. of Child Safety) or a Law Enforcement Agency (Police)
*You need to document who you called and fill out the form and turn it in to your PRINCIPAL with in 24 hours.

4. Scenario 1 Accused is a non-employee
*If the accused is a non employee, PLEASE use the form and make the calls immediately.

5. Scenario 2 If the accused is an employee
If the accused is an employee, Please call Human Resources (Kami) or the District Office immediately.
*Please use the form and call the Police to make the report.
*DO NOT begin an investigation yourself.
*DO NOT inform the accused of the situation.
*DO NOT talk with anyone involved in the situation.

6. Impeding an investigation
It is imperative that you do not take matters into your own hands.
The law is set up for an independent investigation from a law enforcement agency in order to follow the proper procedures of our justice system.
This system is set up to protect students and educators alike. Safety is the highest priority in following these protocols.

7. Law
*Any person who fails to report abuse as provided in A.R.S is guilty of a class one misdemeanor.
*Governing Boards may also take disciplinary action for failure to report, including suspension or action leading to revocation of ones teaching credentials.
