Make sure all texts, particularly those that may have potential challenges, are listed in the syllabus that goes home to parents. Have a clear plan to address the sensitive material in the text. Norm your responses. Group Agree on the meaning of the rubric descriptors Individually score your set of papers using the rubric criteria Compare your responses Come to consensus on the score for each skill

12 Planning for Success All of the sources in the text set were biased in the same direction. Provide a balance of viewpoints for students to gather evidence from. The information about the mother’s income only confuses students. Make sure all information is relevant.
