EPM consists of all methodologies, systems, metric
An enterprise performance management (EPM) system brings the management processes under a single umbrella, connecting financial and operational decisions and ctivities with transactional systems to form a comprehensive management picture. EPM comprises all performance-related strategic, financial, and operational management processes an organization undertakes. EPM consists of all methodologies, systems, metric and structures to support the management processes. Only an EPM system, which includes operational BI applications as well as financial performance management applications, can create that critical link between the operational systems and management systems that enables insight to action. © 2006 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential

Well, Project Anlytics is the latest addition to our suite of BI Applications, a few of which are listed here. Now BI Applications is great, but lets be honest, you can use any tool to right reports and dashboards. The real value to Oracle business Intelligence is our ability to manage data . With the Oracle BI we can manage data in a DW that comes delivered with data dimensions and metrics from Oracle as well as other tier one ERP packages. In addition, using universal adaptors can bring in data form legacy systems to be used in Ad Hoc BI reports and dashboards. I’ll show you how to build one later. Last is the ease at which you can modify existing reports and build new ad hoc reports on the fly Legacy Project Management, Budget Management, and Accounting Systems DW Schema Packaged ETL Maps Universal Adapters © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY, NOT APPROVED FOR EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION "This information is not a commitment to deliver any material, code, or functionality. Oracle Project Analytics
Pre-built warehouse with 7 star-schemas designed for analysis and reporting on Project funding, agreements, budgets, costing, billings, revenue, performance and profitability data. Pre-mapped metadata, including embedded best practice calculations, and over 500 pre-built metrics for the project organization. Presentation Layer Logical Business Mode Physical Sources 3 1 Pre-built ETL to extract data from a large number of operational tables and load it into the DW, sourced from CRM, ERP, and other sources. 2 A “best practice” library of over 100 pre-built intelligence dashboards, reports and alerts for project managers, program managers, project accountants, and executives 4 These are dimensions of Data disigned with a specific kind of anlaysis in mind. We call these Subject Areas. The data included in these subject areas allows us to pull data from one or many schemas in a single report. IE: Cost and billing for margin analysis or Project and Supplier information for Commitment by Supplire. Prebuilt ETL’s take the guess work of out sourcing and loading data into the DW. As you can see from this diagram, with BI Applicaions you are not limited to sources data just from an EBS source. We have ETL’s for EBS, PeopleSoft, Siebel, SAP and we can leverage Universal Adaptors to source data from other Legacy appls. Think of EVA This is the presentation layer , End user layer. Here we’ve built role based dashboards and reports and actionable alerts that lets the information work for you and manage by exception. During my demo, we’ll walk thru a flow that leverages Guided Navigation, Conditional Formatting, and actionable alerts. © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY, NOT APPROVED FOR EXTERNAL DISTRIBUTION "This information is not a commitment to deliver any material, code, or functionality. Decision Workflows – Actionable Analytics
Business Objectives/ Issues Improve Project Performance Is Financial performance on target? Drill to Detail NOT REALLY Are Project costs under control? NO Gain Insights Why? What is the cost variance? Why? What is source of variance? You can see that each part of the flow is supported by prebuilt reports and navigations that allow users to easily drill to further levels of detail as required. In fact, since our products are built to capture information at the transaction line level users can easily drill from the summary information to the most atomic level of information required. Ultimately this allows the user to not only monitor progress on an objective but easily navigate the right information so that in the end any required corrective action can be proactively taken. Here I can discuss Conditional Formatting, Drill Down and Role Based Analysis. In addtion, I will show you Alert functionality and Guided Navidation. Who?
