5 Gift Processor vs. Event Manager
Wants to process the gift immediately. Our gift processor records gifts from the confirmation . Katie: gift processor doesn’t want to wait to the end of the week or the month, and with fiscal year in the middle of summer, homecoming registration straddles two fiscal years and gets more complicated.

8 Events with Donations It was SO. EASY.
Easy for event registrants to give. Easy to add to forms. Easy for gift processor. Easy for event manager. Katie (press easy button)

9 Why we love it Formatting carries over Registrants have choices
Appeal codes Promo codes Role-basing Changes to campaign = changes to event with donation Jenny Formatting carries over from the campaign. Along with the admin confirmation set ups. Registrants have choices in both designation and payments. (if the admin chooses to give them those options) Appeal code as to which event they gave on is automatically included in the and/or report. Promos codes only discount event portion. You can role base the donation category just like any other. Changes to the Campaign (example: add new designations) are automatically added to the event with donation category.

10 HOW TO add a donation category to an event
Katie

11 How to add a donation category to an event
Create a campaign (if you don’t already have one). Add a commerce item that drives registration.** Manage Form > Choose Add Donation Category Katie: It’s as easy as adding a category to an event.

12 4) Choose your campaign and turn on or off options. 5) PROFIT.
Katie … and wait for the money to roll in.

13 SPECIAL CASES Katie

14 Special case: Event templates
A Brilliant Solution We Learned at Sizzler ‘13: Make an event called Event Template and always clone from that event. Add a little reminder to add the event with donation category. Jenny: When cloning an event with a donation category, only the event portion will be cloned and the donation portion will be ignored.  The admin will need to add the donation category to the cloned event to ensure that it is connected to the appropriate campaign.

16 Events with activities
Special case: Events with activities Create a campaign (if you don’t already have one.) Add a commerce item that drives registration.** Manage Form > Choose Add Donation Category 4) Choose your campaign and turn on or off options. 5) Profit. Jenny

17 Jenny: I added a commerce item field that drove registration but was only visible to SuperAdmin.
Then, I could add a donation category, and not confuse the registrant with a question about the general event. As long as the registrant bought one of the ticketed items, they received a yes confirmation . All of the activities were ticketed.

18 Registrations for the general event are zero
Registrations for the general event are zero. Registrations for specific activities are recorded. Jenny
