Take Away:
As believers, we often refer to our life in Christ as a walk.
What we mean is that our life on this earth is a journey, with the ultimate purpose of living forever with God.
Following Jesus is difficult, but the destination is worth it!

Kairos is an advocate for Christ
We bring the love and forgiveness of Christ to the incarcerated
Kairos is united by our faith in Jesus Christ
We introduce others to Christ
Kairos does not advocate for residents
We do not associate while they are on paper
We want them to lean on Jesus, not us
We pray for residents
Keep the focus on Christ
Christ laid down His life for all mankind

5. What is an Advocate ?
A person who publicly supports or recommends another person, cause or policy.

6. Jesus is the Great Advocate
I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous

8. We bring the love and forgiveness of Christ
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

9. We are United by our Faith in Jesus
We take into the prison those things that unite us:
The Bible
The Trinity
The deity, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
Friendship with God is a free gift
The Love of Christ motivates his followers to care for others
Sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ

10. We Introduce Others to Christ
Who is He
What did He do for us
We are His representative
We share what He is doing in our lives

11. Kairos does not Advocate for Inmates
No written mail correspondence
No video visitation No
We give them nothing
No use of social media with inmates
Do not make court ordered payments on their behalf
Do not put money on their accounts
We do not sit on parole boards
We do not write parole letters of endorsement
We do not attend parole hearings

12. We do not associate while they are on paper
Why?

13. We want them to lean on Jesus, not us
We don’t show favoritism
We don’t defend an inmates crime
We don’t manipulate the participants to act a certain way
We don’t get involved in family or legal matters

14. We Pray for residents
Pray for their salvation
Pray for their safety
Pray for their families
Pray for their victims
