Index.html .html is for a Unix server; while .htm is for a windows-based server

tells the Web-browser to use the hyper-text-transfer-protocol. studentweb.cortland.edu tells the browser to go to the Cortland web-server computer. Username (water54) tells the browser to go to your account on the Cortland web-server computer – the account name is water54. filename.html (project1.html) tells the browser to go to that file on your account.
