3 Why develop a toolkit? To meet a local need - our solution to a problem! To promote safe practice – minimise risk Encouraging creative thinking in care planning and delivery Support a person-centred care (Person first – Dementia second!) A comprehensive ‘A-Z’ of life story work – A one stop shop! Supporting the knowledge and evidence base of staff utilising the toolkit To engage and inspire, provide training and support the development of life story work

4 What is included in the toolkit?
An 80 minute training DVD A 14 minute short film ‘Going home’ A DVD ROM (learning resources, video clips and documentation) An e-learning guide ‘developing electronic journals’ A 98 page written guide with 12 chapters Learning and reflection sections An accessible and attractive resource packaged for ease of use!
