2018 BLOEMFONTEIN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Venue: Bloemfontein, Freestate Province Date: 4th and 5th May 2018 PARTICIPATION FOR UFAK CHAMPS,WKF YOUTH LEAGUE- CROTIA – TEAM SELECTION WILL BE DONE AFTER THE FREESTATE LEAGUE EVENT AND ARNOLD CLASSIC EVENT

GENERAL INFORMATION What is our aim? This is the National League Championship Event for 2018, to maintain KSA National Ranking system, this will assist in selecting National Teams Date: TOURNAMENT- 5th May 2018 Time: 5th May 2018 – 08:00 till late Registration / Weigh in: FRIDAY 4th May 2018: 18h00 till 20h00- Indemnity form must be handed in at weigh in – kata athletes must register at weigh in and hand in Indemnity Form WILDCARDS: 3 wildcards will be allowed per province –BUT motivation must be made to the KSA technical convener (cc the Tournament director) for a wildcard – it needs to meet the wildcard criteria Venue : Tempe Indoor Sports Hall- Bloemfontein Athletes found to be outside of their weight category will be Disqualified –immediate disqualification Participation Fee: R per individual category, R per team event Spectators: R 30.oo U 18 years/ Children and R50.00 Adults Closing date for entries: 20th APRIL NO LATE ENTERIES WILL BE ACCEPTED Tournament Entry fees must be deposited into KSA account- by Provinces. Who will be eligible to participate? 1. TOP TEN RANKED ATHLETES IN ALL DIVISONS. 2. TOP 6 TEAM KATA’s PER DIVISION RANKING POINTS ON OFFER – 1st Place= 25 points ; 2nd Place= 20 Points ;3rd Place = 16 Points. Participation points for this event will be = 5 Points Closing date for entries: 20th APRIL Entries have to be entered by Provinces onto the SET ONLINE SYSTEM- PLEASE SEND THE HARD COPY ENTRY FORM and proof of payment must be ed to the Tournament Director Sensei Leonardo Ciutto and Age of athletes will be calculated as the age on 05th November 2018 All athletes must be medically fit before they can be allowed to participate. This is an NATIONAL LEAGUE EVENT and only registered, ranked athletes from the affiliated provinces may enter

Athletes take part at their own risk. No claim may be made against KSA – WKF or any of the officials officiating on the day of the championship. No late entries will be accepted, provinces must confirm with the Tournament Director prior the closing date to ensure that entries has been received. It is the responsibility of every Provincial Coach to explain the conditions/ rules to each athlete and or parent before entering the championship. Any athlete entered in an incorrect age or weight division will be disqualified. Coaches and Team Managers must ensure that correct information is submitted. Any athlete not reporting to his/her floor after 3-call out will be disqualified. WKF rules will apply during the championship. As per the rules discussed at the Technical Congress January 2018. Athletes must use CURRENT WKF Approved Protective gear. Breast protectors and body protectors are compulsory for female & Male competitors. Mouth guards, red/blue mitts, foot and shin guards are also compulsory. Face Guards have been added for Children and are required as per WKF rules for 2018 Kata Rules: PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE THE KATA REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS EVENT: 7- 9yrs – 2 kata all the way through 1st kata can be repeated up until Medal Rounds 2nd kata – MUST CHANGE KATA FOR MEDAL BOUTS 10- 11yrs- MUST DO 3 KATAS: - 1st kata can be done in the first round - 2nd kata – MUST CHANGE KATA FOR 2nd round until Medal bouts. - 3rd kata – MUST CHANGE KATA FOR MEDAL BOUTS 12-13yrs – Must perform 4 KATAS 1ST Kata – for the 1st Round - 2nd Kata – from the 2nd Round - 3rd Kata – from the 3rd Round - 4th Kata – 4th Round and MEDAL BOUTS (may be repeated) 14yrs and up WKF Rules Apply- Must change your kata in every round. Coaches: Only NATIONALLY accredited, appointed coaches from each provinces may coach an athlete from his/ her province(4 Coaches per province). Only coaches wearing their full provincial tracksuit will be allowed to coach. Those wearing only tracksuit top or trouser/ Jeans or Protea track suit wont be allowed on the floor. WKF rules(with KSA Children / Cadets Adaptions) on coaching must be strictly adhered to and non compliance to the rule and regulation disciplinary steps may be taken. Team Managers: Team Managers must wear their official Provincial Attire (Navy blue blazer, white shirt, tie, gray pants, black shoes & socks) Team Managers are not allowed in competition area

Referees and Judges: All officials must be dressed appropriately as per WKF rules, including table officials. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: It is requested that all athletes must bring along the following: Consent letter from parent/ Guardian/Indemnity form The following courses/ briefing are compulsory for all officials that will be officiating in this event including provincial coaches: REFEREES COURSE and ACCREDITATION : 4th May 2018, Time: 18h00 – 21h00 Shihan Brando Pillay and Sensei LLewellyn Rhoda Venue: VENUE TO BE CONFIRMED Cost: R500 COACHING ACCREDITATION: 4th May 2018, Time: 18h00 – 21h00 : Shihan Brando Pillay and Sensei Michael Roetz
