Qualifications To Be A Forensic Entomologist
Permanent resident of the United States, Canada, or their territories Have to have a doctoral degree in Anthropology with emphasis in Physical Anthropology 3 years of full-time professional experience

What They Do They obtain an adequate sample of appropriate arthropod specimens Main job is to accurately identify arthropods Use three subfields (Urban, Stored Product, and mediocolegal) Use succession, larval length, and accumulated degree hour technique

How Specimens Help Can look at specimen and tell where it came from
Used for postmortem interval Can determine if the body was moved after death

Can be used to determine abuse or rape When a bug feeds on the body, DNA can be recovered from its digestive tract Bugs can quickly skeletonize the corpse
