LAFCo approved the SOI (≈3,600 acres) November 2001 LAFCo outreach in Folsom Included a Memorandum of Understanding w/ Sac Co & LAFCo Comprehensive planning Public-stakeholder participation Securing a water supply Providing 30 % open space Preservation and/or mitigation of habitat Provision of services Good-faith negotiations regarding future tax revenues with the Sacramento Co. Folsom Annexation – South of Highway 50

800,000 to 1,000,000 will move into the Sacramento Region over the next 30 years Blueprint’s Preferred Scenario for South of Hwy 50: 12,000 new dwelling units 7,500 new jobs Preservation of oak woodlands Recognized SOI area as non-prime agricultural land (i.e., not targeted for preservation) Folsom Annexation – South of Highway 50
