3. FOUNDATION is best viewed using one of the following Internet browsers:
Internet Explorer version 8.0 or higher
Firefox version 3.5 or higher
Google Chrome version 5.0 or higher
If your browser requires updating, links are provided to the free download on the MSDS Lookup tab.

4. LET’S GET STARTED!

5. To begin, open a compatible browser window and access the Cornerstone website at
Then select the “Client Login” tab.

6. Enter your User Name and Password. and select the Submit button

7. After logging in, you will see a list of your products sorted by the MSDS number.

8. Tables containing MSDS information can be sorted by clicking on the column header -- MSDS #, Review Date, Manufacturer or Product Name!

9. To view an MSDS, click on the MSDS number within the list displayed.

10. A new window will open with a PDF of the MSDS.
The document may then be:
Viewed
Printed, or
Saved to a location on your computer or network

11. Would you like to search for a specific MSDS?

12. FOUNDATION has several options to search for an MSDS:
Simple Lookup
Advanced Search
View All Pending
Archived Search

13. To perform a Simple Lookup, enter the Manufacturer Name or Product Name (or both) then select Search.

14. Your search results will then appear in the table in the middle of the page…

15. When you are ready to perform another search…
Select the Reset button and enter new search criteria.

16. The Advanced Search function in FOUNDATION allows you to search for MSDSs by entering one (or more) of the following criteria:
Manufacturer Name
Product Name
CAS Number
Chemical Name
The Cornerstone MSDS #
Storage Location

17. To use the Advanced Search function, enter your search criteria and select Search.

18. To narrow your search results, enter additional criteria, such as both the manufacturer name and product name, then select Search.

19. Using Advanced Search, you can also view a list of products by location within your facility. Simply use the dropdown arrow next to Storage Area to choose a location then select Search.

20. The results will display a list of MSDSs for products stored in that location.

21. Archived Search
Archived information can be accessed by selecting the Archived Search tab and searching by manufacturer or product name.

22. Helpful Hint To get the most out of your search tools, key in just a portion of the search criteria rather than complete names.
For example:
When searching by manufacturer name to improve your search results…
Don’t enter Dow Chemical Company
Enter only the word Dow

23. Submittal Form
To add new products or make changes to existing products in your database, select the Submittal Form tab.
A new window will open with the online form.

24. Enter the required information and press Submit.

25. You may also upload a copy of the MSDS when completing the Submittal Form.

26. For products submitted with an attached image via the online Submittal Form, the pending MSDS will be available to view by using the Advanced Search tab and selecting the View All Pending button.

27. Your online Submittal Form will be sent to Cornerstone electronically .
Within 10 business days, your MSDS Update will be processed.
Your Cornerstone support technician will then contact you to let you know that your update is complete.

28. Archived MSDSs
For any product no longer in use at your facility, you must submit the information to Cornerstone via a Submittal Form, which will instruct Cornerstone to archive the MSDS.

Your FOUNDATION system includes a variety of reports used for regulatory reporting as well as day-to-day operations :
Complete Chemical List
PQL (Product Quantity List)
EPCRA 302 Extremely Hazardous Substance List
EPCRA 313 Form R Chemicals
HMIS/NFPA List
DHS List
OSHA and ACGIH Regulated Chemicals
Carcinogenic Chemicals
And more….

30. To view a chemical report…
Select the Chemical Reports tab, then click on the report you would like to view.

31. Example:
Product Quantity List or PQL
A real time report of all “Active” products that have been entered into your system, including inventory, container types and storage locations.
The report can be generated in either PDF or Excel format for easy sorting of data.
The PDF version will look like this…

32. A new window will open with either a PDF or Excel spreadsheet containing the report selected.
