3 Title VI Identification Support
CDE has been told that it can be difficult to identify students who may qualify for Title VI One hypothesis on why this is the case is the way Race/Ethnicity is calculated When CDE receives a file from a district they report to us a number of race/ethnicity categories That data is then translated into a single category that matches the US Census definitions of Race/Ethnicity

4 Title VI Identification Support
Title VI and VII are the support programs for Native American, Native Alaskan, and Native Hawaiian support Some districts have a difficult time identifying students who might be asked fill out 506 forms You can find more information on Title VI

8 Title VI Identification Support
The problem If a student identifies as Hispanic or Latino and Native American or Alaska Native They are only reported as Hispanic or Latino If your LEA’s Title VI or VII identification staff ask for help they may be looking for a list of students who identify as Native American / Alaska Native. If you can you can create a report for them If you cannot I can create a report for your district From Student October Data or Student Interchange Data Eventually there will be Cognos report, but not yet.
