Adverbs ending in –ly (-mente)
When you want to describe how something is done, use adverbs. Normally adverbs end in –ly in English and end in –mente in Spanish. Adverbs are created from adjectives

Adverbs ending in –ly (-mente)
If an adjective ends in –e, -l, or – z, just add –mente Ex. reciente - recientemente Ex. normal – normalmente Ex. feliz - felizmente If an adjective ends in –o(a), add –mente to the feminine form Ex. rápido(a) – rápidamente Ex. lento(a) - lentamente

If you want to say a phrase that has more than one adverb, only the last adverb has –mente Ex. Slowly and carefully = lenta y cuidadosamente

Present Progressive w/ Pronouns
Sometimes you are going to use the P.P. with a D.O.P. or an I.O.P. Ex. He is eating it (the hamburger). Ex. We are giving the radio to them. Rule: the pronoun can be placed 1) before the form of estar or 2) attached to the end of the –ing with an accent on the vowel before –ndo. Ex. 1) Él la está comiendo o 2) Él está comiéndola Ex. 1) Nosotros les estamos dando el radio a ellos o 2) Nosotros estamos dándoles el radio a ellos.
11
Present Progressive w/ Reflexives
Same rules apply with reflexive pronouns as with a D.O.P. or an I.O.P.. Ex. I am washing myself = 1)Yo me estoy lavando o 2) Yo estoy lavándome
