As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
Daniel was a wise prophet.

Nebuchadnezzar – Babylonian Empire
Belshazzar,- Babylonian Empire
Cyrus – Medo-Persian Empire
Darius – Medo-Persian Empire
Daniel was the highest prince under both these empires.

3. Daniel’s Influence Daniel 9:2
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Daniel had been brought under the influence of Prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah was the weeping prophet of Judah during the dark days leading to her destruction.

4. You Are the Light of the World
Matthew 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
God has called us to shine as Daniel was sent into Babylon to shine.
Put one little candle in the middle of a large hall, and it will give a good deal of light.

5. You Are Like a Lighthouse
John 1:40-42
40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
Andrew led Peter to Jesus.
You are like a lighthouse leading people to Christ.

Began preaching against the papal church
Led the reformation in Scotland
Wrote “The Book of Discipline”
Preached “hell-fire and damnation” to queen Mary of Scotland and also to bloody Mary, Queen of England
