In Architecture, Wall represents the most important element, which met through the idea of the composition of spaces and is of great importance in creating the Street spaces. 3.3.08

Definition Walls can be defined as the vertical elements of the building which surround, divide, and determine the space. Walls and roof represent the environmental cover that separates the inside environment from the outside natural environment. In solid and surface structure walls are load-bearing elements. 3.3.08

Structurally: Load bearing walls: which bear loads come from top levels floorings, roof, in addition to its weight. They resist site pressure results from wind, or some stored equipments (live load). Economical, but heavy and not providing flexibilty. non-bearing walls : which do not bear floors and roof load . 3.3.08

Separating walls : interior walls could be bearing or non-bearing walls. Their function is to divide and separate the spaces, for many reasons such as privacy, inside environmental control, and fire control. It is also called Partitions 3.3.08

3. Retaining Walls Their main function is to support and resist the soil and water pressure. 3.3.08
