Definition
Walls can be defined as the vertical elements of the building which surround, divide, and determine the space.
Walls and roof represent the environmental cover that separates the inside environment from the outside natural environment.
In solid and surface structure walls are load-bearing elements.

Structurally:
Load bearing walls: which bear loads come from top levels floorings, roof, in addition to its weight. They resist site pressure results from wind, or some stored equipments (live load).
Economical, but heavy and not providing flexibilty.
non-bearing walls : which do not bear floors and roof load .
