3 Reproduction Reproduction is one of the seven life processes.
All living things reproduce. Humans use sexual reproduction to produce their young. In order to do this, the male and female have different reproductive systems and organs which produce different sex cells.

5 Contraception Birth control or family planning allows you to plan when and how many children you want.

6 Abstinence This is the only 100% method of birth control.
Abstinence is when partners do not engage in sexual intercourse.

Moral or religious values Personal beliefs Medical reasons Not feeling ready for an emotional, intimate relationship Future plans

8 Contraception If two people want to have sexual intercourse without a sperm fertilizing an ovum then they need to use contraception. Click on the picture to go to a short presentation on contraceptive methods.

9 David and Rosa David and Rosa are in Secondary School. They are both good students and hope to go to college when they graduate. David and Rosa met over the summer at a party hosted by a mutual friend. They have been dating for five months. They both say they are “in love” with each other and want to begin having sex. David has had two previous sexual partners before Rosa. David would be Rosa’s first sexual partner. Rosa heard that birth control pills can make girls get fat, and she also heard something about birth control pills causing cancer. They definitely do not want to get pregnant but they really want to have sex.
