R10 Annual General Meeting 2016 5-6 March 2016 Bangkok, Thailand
2016 Life Members Activity Proposals Prof. V K Damodaran Life Members Coordinator, R10 Execom 2016 Thank you for the invitation to speak to you. It is always a pleasure to meet with Student Members of IEEE and those who have recently graduated and become full IEEE Members. In past presentations, I and other IEEE Presidents have discussed -- with groups such as this -- the benefits of IEEE membership and how you should be a member and stay a member. But my experience over time tells me that – because you are here today – you are already aware of these everyday benefits.

Under Utilized Potential
Life Members are an under-utilized resource in several Sections and it is possible to use their expertise and experience for energizing the Section Activities There are 1598 Life Members (397 Life Fellows & 402 Life Senior Members included) in Sections in the Region 10 Even if 5%of them could actively assist the Sections, activities in IEEE Sections can be made more vibrant 11/24/2018
