First, use your notes and the chart on p. 573 to look at the different foods that were traded during the Columbian Exchange.
Then, create a delicious meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) using the food traded from both societies. Make sure you include where the food came from on your menu!!
For example: Bacon (pigs from Eur./Af./Asia) and pineapple juice (Americas) for breakfast.
[Also, everything tastes better with bacon.]

Based on the Columbian exchange, what are some ways Europeans can make money?
They establish Colonies: lands controlled by another nation to increase wealth in Europe.

Treatment of Natives: “Atahualpa (who?) offered to fill a room once with gold and twice with silver in exchange for his release. However, after receiving the ransom, the Spanish strangled the king” and took the money.
Used and abused natives.
What were they after? Gold and money for Spain

11. French! Goals: make money off land through fur trade.
Natives: most tolerant of Native Americans***
