Purpose The overarching strategy for the borough Sets the overall strategic direction, the outcomes and priorities the partnership will focus on for the next five years Provides the framework for delivery that will guide and direct the activity of LSP boards Responds to the challenges laid down by Croydon’s independent Opportunity and Fairness Commission to make more of our community’s assets Clearly articulates the borough’s needs, aspirations and priorities The Community Strategy is the first point of reference for anyone interested in what Croydon plans to do, to improve things for its residents and communities over the next five years. The LSP has overall responsibility for ensuring that all partners collaborate effectively to achieve the priorities The five thematic partnership boards (Growth, Safer Croydon, Children and Families, Health and Wellbeing, Stronger Communities) as well as the children and adult safeguarding boards will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the outcomes are achieved The LSP will promote and encourage innovation, collaborative working and robust community engagement, including co-production of services commit resources to preventative and early intervention services in order to achieve best outcomes, including harnessing community and voluntary sector resources to bridge gaps between funded provision and actual need in the ever present austere economic climate

Summary of LSP structure

The LSP will review performance against this plan on a quarterly basis, directing resources as appropriate continue to develop a joint understanding of the implications of key policy developments emerging priorities, as well as working together to influence areas requiring improvement. Wherever it is practical and beneficial the LSP will seek to integrate service planning, resources and delivery mechanisms across partner organisations in order to maximise efficiency and achieve best value

Making it happen The LSP themed partnerships will be reviewed later this year to ensure it remains relevant and focussed on delivering the agenda For the council steps will be taken to ensure the community strategy provides the a visible golden thread through corporate planning, service planning and individual objectives We will produce an annual report on delivery and performance Annual report is the way of reporting back on opportunity and fairness commission
