Louisiana Purchase Foldable
Glue the foldable onto construction paper. Color the area that represents the Louisiana Purchase. Cut the sections apart along the indicated cut lines (look at the Gulf of Mexico.) Label the states: Label the states that make up the Louisiana Purchase, including partial states, with their 2-letter postal codes. Under the foldable, write the following: Purchased: 1803 from France (Napoleon Bonaparte), almost doubled the size of the US Price: $15 million (est. $500 Billion today) Explored by: Meriwether Lewis & William Clark, & their team (The Corps of Discovery.) Sacagawea (a Shoshone) and her husband (a fur trader) served as a guide and interpreter, helping to find edible fruits and vegetables. Significance: The explorers established contact with many Native American tribes and collected much valuable information about western plants and animals.
