An introduction saying that a local construction company want to find out which drill head material is the best – aluminium oxide, diamond or titanium What materials drills are used for in general?
What characteristics would a drill head need? Why?

Describe the chemical properties of each material – what is its chemical symbol? What elements is it made of? Is it made through an ionic or covalent bond? Is it reactive? What is it reactive with if it is? Is this a problem for a drill head? Why?

4. What could be in your report…
Describe the physical properties of each material – is it hard/soft? Is this useful for a drill head? Can it conduct electricity? Can it conduct heat? Is this useful/useless for a drill head? Why? Does it have a high or low melting and boiling point? Does this make it useful/useless for a drill head?

5. What could be in your report…
Summarise the advantages and disadvantages of all 3 materials being used for a drill head. Overall, which material do you think is best for a drill head? Why? Would it be able to do all of the characteristics you described in point 2)?
