Where did the Detective come from?
Early days of MPEG2 multicast video-conferencing I was continually answering same questions Am I connected to capable backbone (Abilene)? Am I connected to a multicast-enabled network? Will my connection support the required mbps? I needed a “is there any hope” tool! suitable for music professor, a “normal” user suitable for a “normal” PC with a “normal” interface suitable for “no budget” development effort 11/24/2018

Provides information about: Internet2 Backbone connectivity General bandwidth (using NLANR iPerf) Multicast capability Bandwidth between any two computers with Internet2 Detective installed Version 3.0 released 18 July 2003 Available for MS Windows and Mac OS X Future development and support to be based on interest from the Internet2 community Downloads and information available at: 11/24/2018
