Assumed Prior Knowledge
Students should already be able to: Read analog and digital clocks to o’clock half past (c) Professor Pete's Classroom, All rights reserved.
12
Analog, Digital and Written
Analog(ue) clocks Have students draw the hands in a distinct way to avoid confusion and inaccurate recording Encourage students to draw the minute hand all the way to the minute markers around the edge of the clock, and the hour hand to almost touching the numbers Digital clocks Allow students to fill in the blank rectangles with the correct time Written form Write the time as commonly spoken To save space, we record numbers in numerical form; teachers may prefer numbers to be spelled in full x hands too short and similar in length hour hand not between the 2 and 3 half past 2
13
Accompanying Worksheets for Printing
Duplicate sheets for students to record their responses. Lessons 1-3 use the same sheet. Lesson 1-3 and appendix activities Lesson 4 You will need 3 copies of this sheet, one for each lesson 1-3 And extras for appendix activities 247021_TBM211_Time_quarter_to_past_calendar_WS (c) Professor Pete's Classroom, All rights reserved.
