1 Chromebook 101 By Mr. Zindman

2 What is a Chromebook? A Chromebook is a small laptop computer that utilizes a virtual “cloud” and the Google Suite. The Chromebook contains a screen and a keyboard. The screen is not touch “friendly.”

3 How to hold a Chromebook?
You should always use two hands in holding a Chromebook. Never carry a chrome book with one hand. Never carry a Chromebook by the screen! Lets watch a funny movie clip 

4 Which Chromebook Will I Use?
You will be assigned the a Chromebook by number. You will use the same Chromebook each day. Chromebooks are never to leave the classroom! No food or drinks are to be next to the Chrome book! If an adult discovers you are eating or drinking next to a Chromebook, they have been instructed to ask you can eat in another location or you may return the Chromebook to the cart until you are done.

5 Chromebook Care Chromebooks must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, and labels. Heavy objects should never be placed on top of Chromebooks. Chromebooks should never be loaned to another student or individual during the school day or otherwise.

6 Chromebook Care-Opening a Chromebook
Open the Chromebook only when it is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk. To open the Chromebook, use one hand to hold the keyboard against the table.  Use the other hand to open the screen by grasping the screen’s edge (in the middle) and gently moving the screen to the open position. (Mr. Zindman will demonstrate how to open the Chromebook  ) The hinge of the screen will only allow the screen to be open to a slight angle.  Do not attempt to open the screen beyond this stopping point as the screen will break if forced.

7 Chromebook Care-Closing a Chromebook
Before closing the screen, make sure there is nothing on the keyboard to prevent the full closure of the device. Obstacles on the keyboard could cause broken screens or damaged hinges. Close the screen only when the Chromebook is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk. Close the Chromebook using two hands–one at either corner of the screen (Mr. Zindman will demonstrate.) Close the screen gently.

8 Chromebook Care-Account Passwords
Never share your account G-mail password with another student. Always log out of your Chromebook even if you will return back to it a little later.

9 Remember, A Chromebook is a Privilege
Using a Chromebook is a privilege not a requirement! If you are involved in a behavior confrontation, it will result in the loss of your Chromebook for the day. This includes verbal abuse and physical confrontations towards peers or adults! Using the Chromebook to record and send profanity and/or explicit sexual content will revoke your privileges permanently!

10 Any Chromebook Questions?
Do you have any questions about the Chrome book?
