Mr. Damir Zaborski, dipl.ing - Aleksandar Radonjić, dipl.ing -
2
Overview of existing Radio Communication System
Overview of law and internal regulative Plain to implementing GSM-R pilot project
3
Overview of Railway network
Total length of track is 4.084,281 km Total length of track lines is km 3.533 km of single track lines (92%) 275 km of double track lines (8%) Electrified with is km (29% of total length) 925,025 km of single track lines (77%) 271,026 km of double track lines (23%) On Corridor X is 769 km On Belgrade – Montenegro is 287 km
4
There are 8 track lines equipped with Analog Radio System.
Analog Radio, based on UIC (Technical regulations for international analogue ground-train radio systems) also known as Radio Dispatch System Use for train to dispatcher communication all over the track, projecting with coverage probability of 95% in time and 95% of locations There are 8 track lines equipped with Analog Radio System. 7 of them is on corridor X and one is on track Belgrade – Montenegro
5
Coverage of analog radio on Serbian Railways
BTS- Base Transmitter Station
6
Coverage of analog radio on Belgrade and Niš railway node
7
Base station with 20m height mast at open track
8
Base station with 20m height mast near railway station
9
Base station with 12m height mast at open track
10
Base station mounted in tunnel using HELIX antennas
11
We use 3 types of differnet CAB Radios
TFZ 70 by Telefunken, 75 radios, from ‘70 TFZ 90 by AEG, 65 radios, from ‘90 MESA23 by Funkwerk, 55 radios, from 2010
12
TOTALLY = 495 radios and 12 repeaters
There are many simplex/semiduplex radio networks grouped in familiar sub-networks Train listing, 55 portable/fixed radios Shunting radio, 125 portable/fixed radios Train maintenance, 35 portable/fixed radios Traffic operations, 45 portable/fixed radios Infrastructure maintenance, 165 portable/fixed radios Other, 70 portable/fixed radios TOTALLY = 495 radios and 12 repeaters

Memorandum of uderstanding
Project declaration proposal for the installation of ERTMS/ETCS system in CORRIDOR X Composed at Zagreb 2003 Signatories: SŽ (Slovenia)-HŽ(Croatia)-MAV(Hungary)-ŽS(Serbia)-NRIC(Bilgaria) and UIC
14
Highlights of the project declaration
Implementation of ETCS on the following lines: Ljubljana - Zagreb – Belgrade Budapest – Belgrade Niš – Sofia Belgrade – Adriatic Sea The objective is to acquire a fully operational new ERTMS system for regular use on each of these lines
15
Relevant map for Corridor X and surroundings on which the lines pending ERTMS/ETCS incorporation or already equipped with it are indicated
16
Serbian railways telecommunication strategy
General Project of integrated telecommunication system at Serbian Railways, January 2008 This is the official documents approved by the Board of Directors of Serbian Railways This document describes main guidance for future evolution of railway telecommunication system, also including and GSM-R
17
National radio-spectrum regulative
Republic agency for electronic communications (RATEL) is regulation body in Serbia In accordance with allocation plan of radio frequency bands (June 2005), radio spectrum at MHz and MHz is reserved for railway communications These days the army is still using this part of the spectrum, but their plan was to leave the frequency for GSM-R
18
Plain to implementing GSM-R pilot project
Building own optical infrastructure (2011/2012) Building own SDH transport network (2012/2013) Creating project documentation for GSM-R pilot project (2012) Creating project documentation for implementation and preparing tender documentation (2013) Equipment acquisition and starting to building GSM-R pilot network (2014)
19
PILOT PROJECT FEATURES
Line Belgrade – Šid – State Border (HŽ) Radio coverage according to ETCS level 2/3 Using site infrastructure (buildings and masts) of analog radio, as much as possible Using existing railway power distribution cable for BTS powering Using own SDH transport network for BTS/BSC/MSC connectivity Using dual mode cab radios (analog + GSM-R)
