Logon Username: first_lastname Password: alpha222 Database- lea490 Every 90 days you will be notified that your password will expire. We will provide instructions on procedures. Minimum of 8 alpha and numeric symbols (must start with a letter and contain at least 2 numbers) and should not contain anything easily associated with you such as social security, name, birthdate, phone number, your children's names etc. Users need to know that they have no choice of user names. Those are assigned by the State system and are tied to payroll. Users will need to be able to answer security questions for locked accounts and forgotten user names and passwords. The owner of the password is the responsible party. Passwords must remain confidential. You are prohibited from using another individual’s user name and password. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

There are 2 ways to set up the spreadsheet.
DPI recommends weighting individual assessments. The second way uses a percentage method.

Only check Use Assessment weights

Failure Threshold is 70. Check Delete Assessments at Year End

Other Settings Top 2 boxes must be checked. Count Blank Marks as Zeros
UNCHECKED- recommended blank cells are exempt or omitted CHECKED- counts against the student

When all selections are made - SAVE.

High school only checks first semester Courses.
Click OK.

2. Under Prep Assessment Types
Type Academic. Check Default box. 2. Under Prep Assessment Types click Add. Report Cycles appear. This is set up by the Data Manager.

Check Assessment Types. Keep it simple. Recommend - 3 or 4.
(You may also choose to call everything “Assessment.”) Click OK.

Your spreadsheet is now ready to use!
SAVE and EXIT.

Name of the Assessment will appear on the Progress Report.
Short Name only appears in your Spreadsheet.

Score Type Numeric Mark grades 3-12 Score Max Leave at 100 for grades 3-12

If your set up is - Use Assessment Weights,
you may weight the individual assessment here. The Use Assessment Type Weights set up, does not have the option to weight individual assessments. Make Assessment Type selection.

Due Date must be a student day in the correct quarter.

Click ADD to enter another Assessment or

Exit to Log off NC Wise or to enter Marks.

OR Click Enter Mark/Comments for the Copy Down buttons

You may check as Late or Exempt
Enter Mark / Comments screen You may check as Late or Exempt COPY DOWN Buttons

2. Then click Copy First Mark Down button.
1. Enter the Mark for the first student on the roster 2. Then click Copy First Mark Down button.

Highlight and change for any student not making this Mark.
SAVE. EXIT.

You may continue to enter Marks, Add Assessments, or EXIT NC Wise.

Help Desk Help Desk can be reached by phone at during the following: Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm during the first three weeks of school and the week prior to progress reports and end of the reporting term.
