Educational Activity: Nurse Academy Individual Session Title: Quality and Safety Purpose of Activity: Minimize risk of harm to patients and providers, and use methods to continuously improve quality and safety of health care. OBJECTIVES CONTENT PRESENTER TEACHING METHODS Participate as a team member to design, promote and model effective use of technology and standardized practices that support safety and quality. Participate as a team member to design, promote and model effective use of strategies to reduce risk of harm to self and others. Promote a practice culture conducive to highly reliable processes built on human factors research. 1. Review activities shown to improve patient satisfaction and safety. a. Discharge phone calls b.
