The Equator is zero (0) degrees of latitude.
Lines of latitude are measured north and south of the equator. Other lines of latitude are called parallels because they are parallel to the equator. Line of Latitude are measured from zero to 90 degrees north latitude and from zero to 90 degrees south latitude 90ºN 0º 90ºS

3 Economic Indicators Gross Domestic Product (GDP) - the money a country makes on goods and services for a given period of time. Birth Rate - The number of live births per year out of a births. Literacy Rate - the percentage of people who are able to read.
