Discipline/Attendance- Stress importance CNP- Lunch forms turned in; seating; keep lunchroom clean Parking- Assigned parking Locker- No book bags or purses in classes or hallways.

Code of Conduct The code of conduct will be reviewed with the students by Friday. Period 1 – Slides 1-4 Period 2 – Slides 5-7 Period 3 – Slide 8-11 Period 6 – Slides 12-15 Period 7 – Slides 16-18 Period 8 – Q & A Distribute Shelby County Acknowledgement Forms. CaHS Handbook is in student agenda. Collect Shelby Acknowledgement Forms, CAHS Hand Book. * Students should sign list stating they received a copy of the Code of Conduct. * Students are to return the Acknowledgement Form signed by both the parent and the student by Friday, August 14th. **Teachers make a master list of students who do not turn in form to Mr. Sims on Friday.

Important Updates Dress code-- pg.13
Shorts, skirts/ dresses must be mid-thigh or longer in the front/back Leggins or other similar garment (jeggings) should be worn with appropriate outer garment and must be proper length. Excessively tight leggings or jeggins will not be allowed. “Articles of Clothing” worn too low, too long, too tight, or too loose are not permitted. Pajama style pants, i.e Yoga Pants/Athletic Wear prohibited Cell phone use-- Remind students that cell phones: vibrations, alarms, any audible noise is considered a distraction of the school program, and a cell phone violation.

Code of Conduct Class I Violations Class II Violation
Excessive tardiness, distraction of the school program, non- conformity to dress code, failure to come to class prepared. Fighting (Students suspended from school may not return to school without a parent meeting with admin.) Attendance Absence Students will have pre-referral to Early Warning meeting after 3 unexcused absences Students will be referred to Early Warning Court after 7 unexcused absences 6 unexcused absences in a semester, student is subject to lose credit Unexcused Check-ins 6 during a semester—Saturday School 9 during a semester--- OSS 1day Early Warning pre-referral 12 during a semester--- Multiple OSS, Early Warning court submission

Attendance Tardiness to class
3 during a month ASD; 6 during a month subsequent ASD 9 during a 9 weeks--- Saturday School 12 during a 9 weeks--- Suspension **Students have 3 days upon the return to school to submit parent notes! Students may submit 6 notes per semester/12 total for the school year. (this does not guarantee the absence will be excused. )

AUP In general, students should only use technology with a teacher or administrator’s permission. During school hours they should only use technology, whether the Board’s or their own personal technology, for school-related purposes. Students should not expect that their files, communications, or Internet use while using Board-owned technology, are private. Students shall not use Technology to compromise the personal privacy, reputation, identity, or safety of themselves or others. Students shall not use Technology for improper, antisocial, unethical, or illegal activity

AUP Students shall not tamper, disable, damage, disrupt, or install
Students shall not invade, trespass, spy, falsify, cheat, waste, or use technology resources for personal purposes . Disciplinary actions for violating the AUP will be commensurate with those outlined in the Shelby County Board of Education Student Code of Conduct and Attendance. In certain cases, financial penalties may apply.

Harrassment/Bullying
Harassment is defined as a continuous pattern of intentional behavior, and includes (but is not limited to) written, electronic, verbal, or physical acts that are reasonably perceived to be threatening by the student-victim. CAHS has “0” Tolerance Policy

Cell Phone Usage BYOD Policy
With classroom teacher’s permission and for instructional purposes only. If student violates policy, device will be taken up and will be returned when a parent can come to pick up the device. Teachers will not allow student to charge their phones in class. The library will offer a charging station for a small fee.

Parking General rules for using school parking lot:
A parking form must be signed by each student and by parent/guardian agreeing to rules and random drug testing A parking hang tag must be purchased Students must park in designated parking space Once arriving, students must park and immediately enter building

Parking Students may not return to car without admin escort
Students are expected to drive safely. Violation of safety or traffic rules could result in temporary or permanent loss of driving privileges. Students may not park at the public park or library and walk to school

Code of Conduct Items returned to Mr. Sims:
1. Master List of students who receive orientation in your class with the student signature next to their printed name. 2. List of students who have not returned the acknowledgment form. 3. All acknowledgment forms signed by both the parent and students.
