SASS stands for Sisters Assisting Sixth Grade Sisters. Each 6th grader is paired up with a big sister SASS leader. SASS leaders will help with 6th graders as they transition to life at the YWLA. Some weeks leaders will visit 6th grade advisories to check-in on their little sisters and do mini-lessons to help with their YWLA transition. SASS also hosts Sister Study Hall once a week after school where students can get their homework completed with the help of older students' tutoring.

The Gay/Straight Alliance is a club that focuses on creating a safe space for both Straight and LGBTQ students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia. The GSA works on educating themselves and the broader school community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues. We bring in outside speakers to cover topics such as LGBTQ history, and organize "Pride Week" and "LGBTQ Awareness Events" that offer a series of educational workshops, panels, and pride celebrations.
