1 Company Logo Display your logo prominently in the upper-left corner. This is done not only to reinforce your brand on every page of the website, but it also provides an important navigational link back to the homepage. 2 Search Bar 30% of visitors to your ecommerce site will use site search, according to eConsultancy. A search bar has the power to improve your site’s usability, thereby increasing sales. Not only should your site’s search functionality provide relevant results, but it must be designed so that visitors can quickly find and use this navigation option. Make your search bar difficult not to find. Just look at the real estate that Walmart gives its search bar. Use obvious calls-to-action (CTAs) in the search button. Popular options are “Go,” “Search” or a magnifying glass icon. Also, give your search button a strong accent color so that eyeball are drawn to it. Shipping or Return Offer Break down a common barrier to purchase and establish immediate credibility by displaying your best shipping or return offer. For first-time visitors, seeing a free shipping or return policy reduces the risk of buying from you and gives them the confidence to continue navigating your ecommerce site.
