2. 1.History
In ancient times, the territory of today's Lebanon is populated by the Phoenicians, a Semitic tribe. The Phoenician alphabet, which came about in the 13th century BC, is our first familiar written writing system. The Phoenicians create many commercial colonies all over the Mediterranean.

3. 2.Population
As a mono-ethnic Arab country (Arabs account for 95% of the population) Lebanon is an island of Christianity in the Muslim world. The numbers of different Christian groups reach up to 40% of the population (other wise - about 30%). According to the data from the last census of 1932, under the French mandate, the Christian community is more than half.

4. 3.Flag
The National Flag of Lebanon was adopted on December 7, The flag is composed of three horizontal strips in red, white and red in the middle is depicted a green Lebanon cedar.
The flag is designed to be neutral and not to represent any religious group in the country.

5. 4.Art
A historical documentary from the Ottoman period was opened in the city of Batur, Lebanon.
With in the exhibition, over 1,000 valuable archival documents are exhibited at Ataturk's personal library, the Ottoman Central Archive, and the archives of the Istanbul University.
