1 How was your holiday break? (2-5) (K-1)

2 5th Grade: SeeSaw Standards: Geometry, Mathematical Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Digital Skills EQ: Can you create and solve multiple mathematical equations and post your results to SeeSaw? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example on next slide Materials: I-pads, paper and pencils for computations, dry erase markers, paper towels Resources: Lesson: Students will collaborate to investigate mathematical concepts and post their results to SeeSaw. Students will investigate the various digital tools available on the SeeSaw app. Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently Criteria: Collaborate with a partner to WRITE A DECIMAL SUBTRACTION PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES REGROUPING Open Seesaw Tap the add + Use the draw tool to solve the equation Tap the mic and explain Add to your SeeSaw journal Next, WRITE A DECIMAL DIVISION PROBLEM WHERE THE DIVISOR IS TWO DIGITS AND THE DIVIDEND IS FOUR DIGITS, repeat SeeSaw instructions

3 Example:

4 4th grade: Ozobots Standard(s): Mathematical concepts, Geometry, Spatial understanding, Coding EQ: Can you program an Ozobot to navigate given parameters? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Resources: Materials: Ozobots, Ozo codes, markers, paper , tape Lesson: Students will collaborate to investigate and program an Ozobot to navigate given parameters. Criteria: Collaborate with your partner to utilize markers to create a path for Ozobot to navigate Incorporate Ozo codes into your path On the given strip of white paper, create a straight BLACK path with a U-Turn at each end, and test it with your Ozobot Roll up the strip of paper into a ring and tape it on the outside, the black line path should be on the inside of the ring Set the ring upright and place Ozobot inside the ring in the middle of the black line OBSERVE WHAT HAPPENS! Differentiation: Provide I-pad if needed Students can work independently Step by step instructions on the board

5 3rd grade: SeeSaw Criteria:
Standards: Geometry, Mathematical Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Digital Skills EQ: Can you create and display your understanding of fractions and post your results to SeeSaw? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Materials: I-pads, paper and pencils for computations, fraction pattern blocks Resources: Lesson: Students will collaborate to investigate mathematical concepts and post their results to SeeSaw. Students will investigate the various digital tools available on the SeeSaw app. Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently Criteria: Collaborate with a partner to use fraction pattern blocks to represent various fractions, make at least 5 different fractions Open Seesaw Tap the add + Take a photo Use the draw tool Tap the mic and explain Add to your SeeSaw journal Next, use the fraction pattern blocks to represent addition of fractions with the same denominator and repeat the SeeSaw instructions

6 2nd Grade: Ozobots Criteria:
Collaborate with your partner to utilize markers to create a path for Ozobot to navigate Incorporate Ozo codes into your path On the given strip of white paper, create a straight BLACK path with a U-Turn at each end, and test it with your Ozobot Roll up the strip of paper into a ring and tape it on the outside, the black line path should be on the inside of the ring Set the ring upright and place Ozobot inside the ring in the middle of the black line OBSERVE WHAT HAPPENS! Differentiation: Provide I-pad if needed Students can work independently Step by step instructions on the board Standard(s): Mathematical concepts, Geometry, Spatial understanding, Coding EQ: Can you program an Ozobot to navigate given parameters? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Resources: Materials: Ozobots, Ozo codes, markers, paper, tape Lesson: Students will collaborate to investigate and program an Ozobot to navigate given parameters.

7 1st grade: SeeSaw Criteria:
Collaborate with a partner to CREATE THREE ADDITION EXPRESSIONS EQUAL TO 10 Next, CREATE THREE SUBTRACTION EXPRESSIONS and repeat the SeeSaw instructions Standard(s): Geometry, Mathematical Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Digital Skills EQ: Can you create and solve multiple mathematical equations and post your results to SeeSaw? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example Materials: I-pads, paper and pencils for computations, pattern blocks Resources: Lesson: Students will collaborate to investigate mathematical concepts and post their results to SeeSaw. Students will investigate the various digital tools available on the SeeSaw app. Differentiation: Step by step instructions on the board Students can work independently

8 Kindergarten: Ozobots
Criteria: Collaborate with your partner to write and program Ozobot to follow number paths Next, draw a marker line to match the correct answer to the addition or subtraction equation Ozodraw a freeform path for Ozobot to navigate Differentiation: Students can work independently Provide digital Ozobot activity if needed Standards: Math, geometry, numbers & operations. Language, and speaking. Coding navigation skills. EQ: Can you program an Ozobot to navigate numbers 0-10? Can you program an Ozobot to add and subtract within 5? Hook: Ms. Bettes’ example… Resources: Materials: Ozobots, markers, large paper Lesson: Students will collaborate to program an Ozobot to navigate numbers and operations.
