ORIGINS They spread in the late 1950s and also at the early 1960s around the south of England. We called them "Modernists", reference to modern jazz. They weren't inspirate by Hippies but by the Teddy boys. Huck Teddy Boys

SOCIAL CONTEXT At the end of the fifties, Mods emerged in London. British were in good economic context, and for the working-class the conditions were well, ( can buy cheap motorcycles). Originally, they came from India and Pakistan so they were victims of racial prejudice. APPEARANCE Mods were crazy about fashion, they were stylish, sophisticated and they bought French and Italian clothes. The boys wore drainpipes trousers, V-neck jumpers with thin ties and bowling shoes. The girls loved to wear shorts, miniskirts and colorfull dresses with short haircut and little makeup. Echos

WAY OF LIFE They loved dancing in the night club ( The Flamingo) and doing shopping in Carnaby street. They drove motorcycles like Vespas and Lambrettas. They used weapons, like bike chains and knives, against Rockers because they were in conflict.

MUSICS For the music, Mods listened in the 1950s sophisticated modern jazz like Bo Diddley. Afterwards, in 1960s they became fond of Ska music for exemple Owen Gray and also British Bands. discogs By Cassandre and Maleva
