3. Introduction
Chocolatiers are craftsmen who want to be creative and need to concentrate on what they are good at doing – making chocolate
From previous experience we know that learning 3D CAD, then tool path software, then a CAM program and finally understanding how a 3 axis router works is a lot of hard work and not for the feint hearted.
From CAD to tool takes many hours

4. Proposal
Formech would like to propose a simple entry level tooling solution for the Chocolatier market that could be offered with the purchase of Formech vacuum forming machine.
1- We provide the aluminium or model board plinth
2- The customer provides the DXF or illustrator file
3- We provide the stainless
steel plate
4- A vacuum forming is taken over the plinth and the plate for moulding the chocolate

This test used a revised plinth and brass etched plate
1- Revised plinth with border and
raised surface to help with
vacuum flow
2- Detail showing raised area
3- Brass plate etched to a depth of 0.25mm. The 0.75mm vacuum holes were easy to drill
