An informative chapter explaining the basics on how the LUCAS survey is conducted in the Member States and presenting new results on Landscape diversity (Shannon evenness index).

Composite indicator built on both economic and social elements, inspired by "GDP and beyond". The chapter is based on a study made by DG Regio and the Joint research centre (JRC).
